On Sunday 4th Oct 2016 our 4th piste ride went 100miles up the Radar Road to Lowther Hills Ski Club. This private road (normally locked) is Scotland’s highest piece of tarmac. From the foot of Mennock pass it is the UK’s 3rd tallest climb.
Lowther Hills Ski Club is based at Wanlockhead, Dumfries and Galloway, in the Southern Uplands,
Less than an hour from Glasgow down the M74, the ski club and 3 Pistes team organise this sportive to raise funds for a new (2nd hand) piste basher.
A picture tells a thousand words. What it doesn’t show you is that we had music blasting from speakers all the way up the last 8km of climb. Total party atmosphere.
